Micron showcases Crucial products at Delhi Comic Con ahead of consumer exit

Micron will wind down its almost thirty-year-old Crucial consumer business after February 2026, freeing production for data center demand and Artificial Intelligence-grade products. The brand briefly appeared at Delhi Comic Con promoting RAMs and SSDs even after announcing a planned exit.

Last week, Micron announced plans to wind down its Crucial consumer business. After February 2026 the American computer memory giant’s almost thirty-year-old sub-brand will cease operating in the consumer channel across global retail outlets. Micron said it is freeing production capacity to meet growing data center demand and to focus on items that meet Artificial Intelligence-grade standards. The company is also scheduled to have some sort of presence at CES 2026, raising questions about what the consumer footprint will look like in Las Vegas one month before the planned exit.

Despite the announcement, attendees at Delhi Comic Con noticed an official Crucial presence at the event. An observer, Madhav Banka, posted that Crucial India had set up a booth and later shared photos from the show. Banka described the display as showcasing RAMs and SSDs and highlighted the irony that the sub-brand’s consumer channel is slated to close next year. Micron and Crucial were not listed as official exhibitors online for the convention, but representatives likely registered their appearance well before early December’s seismic revelation about the consumer business wind-down.

The Crucial sub-brand’s social accounts issued a succinct farewell mid-way through last week, writing thank you for 29 amazing years of trust, collaboration, and shared success. Crucial wouldn’t have been what it was without you. That message confirms the end date and frames the brief Comic Con appearance as part of a winding-down window. With production shifting toward data center needs and Artificial Intelligence-grade product requirements, Micron’s actions at consumer events and trade shows will be watched closely as the company executes the transition away from the consumer retail channel.
