HPE Expands Aruba Networking Portfolio with Enhanced Switches and Wi-Fi 7 Access Points

HPE unveils major enhancements to its Aruba Networking wired and wireless lineup, including new switches and Wi-Fi 7 access points optimized for Artificial Intelligence workloads.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced significant expansions to its HPE Aruba Networking portfolio, unveiling advanced wired and wireless solutions designed to support the next generation of enterprise connectivity and security needs. Central to this update is the introduction of the HPE Aruba Networking CX 10K distributed services switches, featuring integrated, programmable data processing units (DPU) from AMD Pensando. These DPUs are engineered to offload security and network services from the primary computing resources, ensuring more efficient processing for complex Artificial Intelligence workloads.

The expansion includes several new products aimed at scaling performance and enhancing data throughput. The flagship HPE Aruba Networking CX 10040, also known as a smart switch, represents a substantial upgrade by doubling the scale and performance capabilities of predecessor models in both networking and security functions. Additionally, HPE has rolled out four HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300M campus networking switches. These new switches are tailored for environments demanding high data speeds, such as enterprise Internet of Things deployments, Artificial Intelligence workloads, or high-performance computing clusters, all within a more compact and flexible footprint.

Complementing the hardware innovations, HPE is introducing Wi-Fi 7 access points (APs) and associated technology enhancements for both indoor and outdoor connectivity. These new access points are engineered to deliver the highest quality service for critical applications such as data transfer, voice, and video communications. The Wi-Fi 7 capabilities leverage Artificial Intelligence-driven optimization to ensure seamless, robust, and reliable connections for modern workplace environments and dynamic campus settings. Through these advancements, HPE aims to address the growing demand for secure, high-performance network infrastructure capable of supporting the increasing prevalence of Artificial Intelligence and other data-intensive enterprise applications.

Google and other chatbots surface real phone numbers

Generative Artificial Intelligence chatbots are surfacing real phone numbers and other personal details, sometimes by pulling from obscure public sources and sometimes by inventing plausible but wrong contact information. Privacy experts say users have few reliable ways to find out whether their data is in model training sets or to force its removal.

U.S. and China revisit Artificial Intelligence emergency talks

Washington and Beijing are exploring renewed talks on an emergency communication channel for Artificial Intelligence as fears grow over the capabilities of Anthropic’s Mythos model. The shift reflects rising concern in both capitals that competitive pressure is outpacing safeguards.

Artificial Intelligence divides employers as hiring and headcount shift

U.S. hiring beat expectations in April, but employers remain split on whether Artificial Intelligence should drive layoffs, productivity gains, or internal redeployment. At the same time, candidate use of Artificial Intelligence is outpacing employer adoption in hiring, adding new pressure to screening and entry-level recruiting.
