Broadcom debuts first enterprise Wi-Fi 8 platform for Artificial Intelligence ready networks

Broadcom has introduced the first unified Wi-Fi 8 access point and switch solution designed to support Artificial Intelligence ready enterprise networks at the edge.

Broadcom introduced what it calls the industry’s first Wi-Fi 8 access point and switch solution designed around a unified architecture for Artificial Intelligence ready enterprise networks. The launch targets organizations looking to modernize wireless infrastructure for higher performance, efficiency and security while preparing campuses and branches for more data intensive and latency sensitive workloads driven by emerging applications.

The new enterprise grade Wi-Fi 8 access point platform builds on Broadcom’s first to market Wi-Fi 8 radios that were launched in October 2025 and it is powered by a new accelerated processing unit chip, the BCM49438, which is designed to optimize wireless networking and Artificial Intelligence acceleration at the enterprise edge. By integrating radio, processing and acceleration capabilities, the platform is positioned to handle dense client environments and advanced analytics without relying solely on centralized data center resources.

Alongside the access point, Broadcom unveiled an enterprise grade switch platform built around the Trident X3+ BCM56390 Ethernet switch, which is paired with the company’s multi gigabit PHY and PoE power sourcing equipment chips. Together, the Wi-Fi 8 access point platform and the Trident X3+ based switch form a unified architecture that Broadcom states is intended to maximize performance, efficiency and security for Wi-Fi 8 wireless networks in enterprise environments, providing a cohesive foundation for next generation connectivity and Artificial Intelligence enhanced services.

Apple plans Intel 18A-P for M7 and 14A for A21

Apple is expected to use Intel’s 18A-P process for M7 chips in MacBook models and Intel’s 14A process for A21 chips in iPhones. The shift points to a broader supplier strategy as Apple moves beyond TSMC for parts of its future silicon roadmap.

Google and other chatbots surface real phone numbers

Generative Artificial Intelligence chatbots are surfacing real phone numbers and other personal details, sometimes by pulling from obscure public sources and sometimes by inventing plausible but wrong contact information. Privacy experts say users have few reliable ways to find out whether their data is in model training sets or to force its removal.

U.S. and China revisit Artificial Intelligence emergency talks

Washington and Beijing are exploring renewed talks on an emergency communication channel for Artificial Intelligence as fears grow over the capabilities of Anthropic’s Mythos model. The shift reflects rising concern in both capitals that competitive pressure is outpacing safeguards.

Artificial Intelligence divides employers as hiring and headcount shift

U.S. hiring beat expectations in April, but employers remain split on whether Artificial Intelligence should drive layoffs, productivity gains, or internal redeployment. At the same time, candidate use of Artificial Intelligence is outpacing employer adoption in hiring, adding new pressure to screening and entry-level recruiting.
