Y Combinator-backed startup Golpo reinvents artificial intelligence video generation

Golpo launches a platform leveraging artificial intelligence to turn written content into animated explainer videos, making workplace communication easier than ever.

Golpo, a startup supported by Y Combinator and co-founded by brothers Shreyas and Shraman Kar, has introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered platform that automates the creation of animated explainer videos from written information. The platform gives users the ability to transform content from sources such as documents, code, or project management tools into dynamic, whiteboard-style videos with realistic voiceovers, helping simplify workplace training, product demonstrations, classroom teaching, and other instructional needs.

The key focus of Golpo is actionable, practical communication rather than cinematic content. Co-founder Shreyas Kar emphasizes that while many artificial intelligence video generators can create visually impressive scenes, they often fall short in clarity for tasks like technical explainers or employee onboarding. Golpo´s system addresses this gap by producing communication-centered videos designed for transparency and learner engagement. The videos are highly customizable, allowing full control over animation and visuals, and the platform supports narration in over 50 languages, broadening its accessibility across global teams.

Golpo offers several subscription tiers to address varying user demands. A Free plan provides two monthly credits, suitable for limited previews. The Starter and Plus plans offer increasing credits and customer support, with the Plus option catering to larger teams or organizations. Enterprises can opt for tailored solutions, which feature advanced tools, narration in up to 190 languages, API access, and the ability to create videos as long as 60 minutes. The startup previously gained attention for its artificial intelligence-generated true crime podcast tool, highlighting a focus on automating media creation for specialized use cases. With this latest platform, Golpo aims to revolutionize the way teams explain, teach, and report information, making sophisticated media production both accessible and efficient for businesses and educators worldwide.
