This week in artificial intelligence: Microsoft Copilot fall release, IBM and Groq partnership, Amazon robotics, and OpenAI ChatGPT Atlas

NexaQuanta highlights a fast-moving week in artificial intelligence, from Microsoft's human-centered Copilot updates and IBM's Groq-powered enterprise acceleration to Amazon's robotics push and OpenAI's new ChatGPT Atlas browser. Together, these releases point to more integrated, collaborative, and task-oriented experiences.

NexaQuanta’s latest roundup tracks four major developments shaping how artificial intelligence is deployed across consumer, enterprise, and operational workflows. Microsoft introduced the Copilot Fall Release with an emphasis on human-centered design, IBM partnered with Groq to speed enterprise inference, Amazon unveiled new robotics and agentic tools for its logistics network, and OpenAI launched ChatGPT Atlas, a browser with an assistant built in.

Microsoft’s update aims to make artificial intelligence more personal, social, and empowering. The new Groups feature turns Copilot into a shared workspace for up to 32 participants to brainstorm and co-write, while Imagine encourages community creativity by letting users explore and remix generated content. A customizable visual companion called Mico adds voice, color, and expressive interactions. Copilot now remembers details across conversations and services such as OneDrive, Gmail, and Google Drive with user consent. Purpose-built modes include Copilot for Health, which pulls from credible sources like Harvard Health, and Learn Live, an interactive tutor using voice and visuals. Deep integration into Edge and Windows supports natural voice commands, web summarization, and organization via Journeys and Copilot Vision. The release is live in the United States and rolling out to the United Kingdom, Canada, and other regions, accessible via mobile apps or copilot.microsoft.com.

IBM and Groq announced a strategic partnership that brings Groq’s Language Processing Unit hardware and GroqCloud platform to IBM’s watsonx Orchestrate for real-time, agentic artificial intelligence. GroqCloud delivers over five times faster inference than traditional GPU systems, targeting low latency and consistent performance for large-scale workloads across healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. IBM plans to support its Granite models on GroqCloud and to integrate Red Hat’s open source vLLM with Groq’s hardware to optimize inference orchestration. Early use cases include healthcare agents that handle thousands of patient queries simultaneously with higher accuracy and faster responses, along with retail and HR automations. The integration is available immediately to IBM clients.

Amazon detailed a suite of artificial intelligence and robotics initiatives designed to empower employees, speed deliveries, and support sustainability. Blue Jay, a new robotics system, performs picking, stowing, and consolidating in one flow to boost efficiency and reduce physical strain. Project Eluna applies agentic artificial intelligence to real-time operational data, helping managers spot bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and enhance safety. Amazon is also piloting wearable smart glasses for delivery drivers. The company is expanding Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery through an investment that aims to triple rural delivery capacity by 2026. Its demand prediction places inventory closer to customers, while sustainability efforts include e-cargo bikes, drones, and zero-carbon fulfillment centers.

OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Atlas, a browser that embeds ChatGPT directly into the browsing experience. Atlas keeps the assistant present as users navigate, analyzes pages in real time, and supports on-page tasks, with memory to recall relevant past conversations and details. An upgraded Agent Mode enables actions such as research, booking appointments, and event planning using a live browsing context. Atlas is launching worldwide for macOS for Free, Plus, Pro, and Go users, with Business access in beta. Enterprise and Education users can enable it through administrators. Versions for Windows, iOS, and Android are in development. Across these announcements, artificial intelligence is becoming more collaborative, responsive, and embedded in everyday tools and operations.

What businesses need to know about the EU cyber resilience act

The EU cyber resilience act is turning product cybersecurity into a legal requirement for companies that sell digital products into the European Union. A key compliance milestone arrives in September 2026, well before the full regulation takes effect in 2027.

Claude Mythos and cyber insurance’s next inflection point

Claude Mythos is being treated by governments and regulators as a potential systemic cyber risk with implications for financial stability and insurance markets. Its emergence is intensifying pressure on insurers to clarify whether Artificial Intelligence-enabled cyber losses are covered, excluded, or require new stand-alone products.

OpenAI expands ChatGPT ads with self-serve manager

OpenAI is widening its ChatGPT ads pilot with a beta self-serve Ads Manager, new bidding options and broader measurement tools. The push signals a deeper move into advertising as the company expands the program into several international markets.

OpenAI launches Artificial Intelligence deployment consulting unit

OpenAI has created a new consulting and deployment business aimed at helping enterprises build and roll out Artificial Intelligence systems. The move mirrors a similar push by Anthropic and signals a broader effort by model providers to capture more of the enterprise services market.

SK Group warns DRAM shortages could curb memory use

SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won warned that customers may reduce memory consumption through infrastructure and software optimization if DRAM suppliers fail to raise output. Demand from Artificial Intelligence data centers is keeping the market tight as memory makers weigh expansion against the long timelines for new fabs.
