Kioxia unveils GP Series super high IOPS SSD for Artificial Intelligence systems

Kioxia has introduced the GP Series, a super high IOPS SSD designed to let GPUs directly access high-speed flash memory as an extension of High Bandwidth Memory in Artificial Intelligence systems. The product is aimed at boosting GPU-accessible memory capacity and speeding data access for demanding workloads.

Kioxia America, Inc. announced the development of its Super High IOPS SSD, a new type of SSD that enables the GPU to directly access high-speed flash memory as an expansion to High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) in Artificial Intelligence systems. The product is branded as the KIOXIA GP Series and is positioned for Artificial Intelligence and high-performance computing environments.

The KIOXIA GP Series is designed to address growing performance demands by providing larger GPU-accessible memory capacity for faster data access to Artificial Intelligence workloads. The company frames the SSD as a way to extend available memory for GPUs, helping systems work with larger data sets while keeping data closer to compute resources.

The NVIDIA Storage-Next initiative addresses the anticipated shift from compute-intensive to data-intensive workloads and the expanded need for GPU-accessible memory space, currently limited by HBM size. Expanding the GPU’s usable memory space allows access to larger data sets and improves GPU utilization by moving more data closer to compute resources.

Evaluation samples of KIOXIA GP Series will be available to select customers by the end of 2026.

What businesses need to know about the EU cyber resilience act

The EU cyber resilience act is turning product cybersecurity into a legal requirement for companies that sell digital products into the European Union. A key compliance milestone arrives in September 2026, well before the full regulation takes effect in 2027.

Claude Mythos and cyber insurance’s next inflection point

Claude Mythos is being treated by governments and regulators as a potential systemic cyber risk with implications for financial stability and insurance markets. Its emergence is intensifying pressure on insurers to clarify whether Artificial Intelligence-enabled cyber losses are covered, excluded, or require new stand-alone products.
