Amazon Unveils Nova Act Model to Revolutionize Online Shopping

Amazon introduces Nova Act, a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence model for automating online shopping and web-related tasks.

Amazon has unveiled its latest creation, Nova Act, an advanced AI model designed to handle various browser-based tasks including online shopping, internet searches, and on-screen inquiries. The new model is currently accessible to developers through a restricted research preview, signaling Amazon´s strategic push to amplify its Artificial Intelligence resources and capabilities.

Nova Act is positioned as a competitor to OpenAI´s Operator agent. It excels at executing scheduled actions, processing intricate instructions, and carrying out context-specific tasks, such as making purchases while bypassing unnecessary add-ons. Despite being in its early stages of testing, Amazon has confirmed that Nova Act is already integrated into Alexa Plus, enhancing everyday digital interactions.

This new model is part of Amazon´s broader Nova family of AI models, launched by the company´s Artificial General Intelligence Labs. The Nova suite, introduced in late 2024, includes models optimized for language comprehension as well as image and video generation tools. With the Nova family, Amazon focuses on cost efficiency, claiming operation costs at least 75% lower than competitors. Additionally, Amazon has launched a dedicated web portal to facilitate interaction with these models, particularly for US-based developers, promoting a streamlined process for experimenting and implementing these AI solutions.
