AAEON launches world´s first 8L dual-GPU artificial intelligence inference server, the MAXER-5100

AAEON introduces the MAXER-5100, the first compact dual-GPU Artificial Intelligence inference server, engineered for secure edge device management.

AAEON has expanded its offerings in advanced artificial intelligence computing with the introduction of the MAXER-5100, which it claims as the world´s first 8-liter inference server featuring two integrated GPUs. The flagship configuration is powered by a robust 14th generation Intel Core i9-14900K processor, offering 24 cores and 32 threads, partnered with a pair of NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada GPUs to deliver compelling parallel processing performance suitable for compute-heavy inference tasks. A barebone version ensures flexibility, supporting up to 65 watt CPUs from Intel´s recent 12th, 13th, and 14th generation processors and providing additional PCIe slots for a range of compatible GPUs, enabling users to customize hardware for application-specific workloads.

Targeted at organizations deploying and managing fleets of edge devices, the MAXER-5100 serves as a centralized command hub, providing the computational backbone required for smart infrastructure, healthcare, and sophisticated manufacturing systems. Persistent security is a major focus: the server integrates Certificate Authority capabilities, helping create trusted environments for connected systems. Its zero-trust secure tunnel and onboard TPM 2.0 co-processor safeguard data in transit, allowing only verified communication between server and endpoint devices. This fortified data pipeline not only counters unauthorized access but facilitates reliable over-the-air firmware updates and remote diagnostics, catering to dynamic, distributed environments where uninterrupted service and protection against intrusion are critical.

Compact in its 8-liter chassis yet immense in capability, the MAXER-5100 sets itself apart in a market increasingly demanding both high-density compute and secure, scalable edge orchestration. The combination of powerful central and graphical processing units, coupled with enterprise-level security, positions the MAXER-5100 as an agile solution for evolving artificial intelligence architectures. AAEON’s solution is poised to accelerate automation, decision-making, and real-time analytics across diverse sectors where performance, flexibility, and trustworthiness must go hand in hand.

Google and other chatbots surface real phone numbers

Generative Artificial Intelligence chatbots are surfacing real phone numbers and other personal details, sometimes by pulling from obscure public sources and sometimes by inventing plausible but wrong contact information. Privacy experts say users have few reliable ways to find out whether their data is in model training sets or to force its removal.

U.S. and China revisit Artificial Intelligence emergency talks

Washington and Beijing are exploring renewed talks on an emergency communication channel for Artificial Intelligence as fears grow over the capabilities of Anthropic’s Mythos model. The shift reflects rising concern in both capitals that competitive pressure is outpacing safeguards.

Artificial Intelligence divides employers as hiring and headcount shift

U.S. hiring beat expectations in April, but employers remain split on whether Artificial Intelligence should drive layoffs, productivity gains, or internal redeployment. At the same time, candidate use of Artificial Intelligence is outpacing employer adoption in hiring, adding new pressure to screening and entry-level recruiting.
