NVIDIA and MediaTek Set to Unveil ´N1´ Arm-Based SoC at Computex

NVIDIA and MediaTek are rumored to debut the ´N1´ Arm-based SoC at Computex 2025, aiming to accelerate Artificial Intelligence innovation from edge to cloud.

MediaTek has announced that CEO Dr. Rick Tsai will deliver a keynote at Computex 2025, amid speculation about a significant product launch in partnership with NVIDIA. The two companies, previously known for collaborations in automotive technology, are reportedly extending their alliance to develop Arm-based system-on-chips (SoCs) targeting the high-end CPU consumer market. This move follows rumors from late last year suggesting NVIDIA´s intent to leverage its Blackwell GPU architecture and MediaTek´s experience in crafting advanced Dimensity mobile processors for a powerful new offering.

Evidence of a forthcoming NVIDIA ´N1x´ SoC surfaced when job postings at Lenovo referenced the mysterious chip. Industry sources have since speculated about a product line featuring both high-end ´N1x´ and mainstream ´N1´ models, with launches potentially slated for the latter half of the year. Reports from ComputerBase.de suggest that the unannounced ´GB10´ PC chip, which could debut as part of this collaboration, is already implemented in the NVIDIA DGX Spark platform. These systems reportedly target Artificial Intelligence developers, enabling them to locally test large language models before deploying them to larger data centers. The GB10 chip integrates a Blackwell GPU with a Grace Arm CPU, offering up to 128 GB LPDDR5X memory and SSD options of 1 TB or 4 TB. GPU performance is noted at one petaflop of FP4 with sparsity, with the graphics solution utilizing 5th-generation Tensor Cores and 4th-generation RT Cores found in GeForce RTX 50-series cards.

The GB10 SoC, as described, features a total of 20 Arm cores—10 Cortex-X925 and 10 Cortex-A725—resulting in substantial computational capability within a relatively compact 150 × 150 mm board, which is larger than the typical NUC format. MediaTek’s deep experience in mobile SoC design, combined with NVIDIA’s GPU prowess, positions the rumored joint venture to deliver a competitive solution in the emerging ´AI PC´ space. As anticipation builds ahead of Computex, industry observers will be watching closely for the official unveiling and detailed capabilities of the NVIDIA and MediaTek ´N1´ SoC platform.
