Rambus Launches Advanced Chipsets for Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence PC Memory

Rambus introduces new chipsets, including two Power Management ICs, to power high-performance Artificial Intelligence PC memory modules across client and server platforms.

Rambus Inc. has announced the availability of its latest client chipsets for next-generation Artificial Intelligence PC memory modules. Central to this launch are two new Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) designed specifically for advanced computing: the PMIC5200, which powers LPDDR5 CAMM2 (LPCAMM2) memory modules, and the PMIC5120, supporting DDR5 CSODIMMs and CUDIMMs. PMICs play a crucial role in delivering efficient, reliable power to memory modules that are essential for achieving superior performance in high-end desktops, notebooks, and workstations tasked with Artificial Intelligence workloads.

The company´s chipset offering not only includes these PMICs but also the Client Clock Driver (CKD) and Serial Presence Detect Hub (SPD Hub). Together, these components form a comprehensive solution engineered to enable robust and scalable memory modules for a diverse range of client platforms. With the release of these new products, Rambus extends its portfolio to encompass complete memory interface chipsets for every JEDEC standard DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory module, catering to both servers and client applications.

This expanded chipset portfolio underscores Rambus´s commitment to driving performance advancements in data-centric computing environments. By ensuring compatibility with the latest memory standards and supporting next-generation Artificial Intelligence hardware, Rambus aims to facilitate breakthroughs in data processing speed and efficiency for device makers and end users alike. These developments position Rambus as a leading provider in the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence-ready personal computing, supporting new levels of innovation in memory subsystem design and integration.
