Kioxia Corporation has claimed significant recognition with its KIOXIA LC9 Series 245.76 terabyte enterprise solid-state drive (SSD), winning the Best of Show award in the SSD Technology category at the Flash Memory Summit (FMS). The device leverages a 32-die stack Kioxia BiCS FLASH generation 8 QLC 3D flash memory, setting new standards in high-capacity storage for enterprise environments.
The LC9 Series introduces the industry´s first 245.76 TB NVMe SSD, offered in both the standard 2.5-inch and the Enterprise and Datacenter Standard Form Factor (EDSFF) E3.L. This massive storage solution targets data-intensive sectors, including generative Artificial Intelligence and next-generation enterprise workloads. The product is currently sampling to select customers, signaling an upcoming leap in flash memory product performance for data centers and cloud service providers.
Industry experts have lauded the SSD for its unprecedented combination of capacity, power efficiency, and compact form factor. Jay Kramer, Chair of the Awards Program and President of Network Storage Advisors Inc., highlighted the pivotal role of Kioxia´s proprietary CBA (CMOS directly bonded to array) technology and innovative 32-die stacked architecture. According to Kramer, these advancements deliver the requisite density and performance levels to meet rapidly evolving storage demands.
