Elon Musk unveils Grok-3, claims world´s smartest artificial intelligence

Elon Musk´s xAI launches Grok-3, boasting immense computing power and outpacing rivals in benchmark tests, while staking a bold claim as the planet´s smartest artificial intelligence.

Elon Musk´s artificial intelligence startup xAI has launched Grok-3, a large language model designed to outpace existing frontrunners like OpenAI´s GPT-4o, Google´s Gemini-2 Pro, and DeepSeek-V3. Unveiled with bold claims, Musk asserts that Grok-3 is currently ´the smartest artificial intelligence on earth´, a statement underpinned by notable advances in computational power and benchmark performance. Developed with ten times the computing resources of its predecessor, Grok-2, the new model´s training was powered by a custom Memphis data center housing 200,000 GPUs.

Grok-3 introduces a range of advanced capabilities, including multimodal reasoning, chain-of-thought logic, and voice-based interaction. It boasts robust performance on academic benchmarks such as the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and the Graduate Physics Question Answering (GPQA) test, surpassing major competitors in mathematics, science, and coding assessments. The model´s ´Deep Search´ feature aims to redefine how search engines operate, while a self-correcting mechanism allows Grok-3 to adapt its logic and learn from prior errors, minimizing reliance on periodic external updates. A significant aspect of its training involved exposure to legal texts and court documents, granting it the ability to provide in-depth legal analysis and verdict simulations, though real-world application remains to be validated.

Musk emphasizes Grok-3´s uncompromising pursuit of truth, positioning it as a maximally truth-seeking entity, even if its insights challenge prevailing norms. Access is currently limited to Premium+ subscribers on Musk´s X platform, complemented by a new SuperGrok tier for broader web and mobile deployment. The roadmap includes a phased open-source release: Grok-2 will become public once Grok-3 is fully established. Tensions with industry rivals persist, with Musk championing an ethos of transparency and community-driven development in contrast to what he characterizes as the closed nature of OpenAI. Grok-3’s arrival signals xAI’s intent to cement a leadership role in the rapidly escalating artificial intelligence competition, leveraging both technical innovation and new accessibility models to expand its influence.

Great American Artificial Intelligence Act targets frontier model developers

The Great American Artificial Intelligence Act would create new obligations mainly for frontier model developers, while leaving many deployment risks for everyday business users intact. Companies using commercial tools would still face state-law, fraud, workforce, privacy, and governance exposure under existing frameworks.

EU rejects Apple blame for Siri Artificial Intelligence delay

European Union officials rejected Apple’s claim that Digital Markets Act rules are blocking the regional launch of Siri Artificial Intelligence. Brussels said Apple must build interoperability solutions that meet European privacy and security standards.
