ASMedia Showcases PCIe and USB4 Innovations at COMPUTEX 2025

ASMedia prepares to debut new PCIe and USB4 solutions at Computex 2025, targeting high-speed connectivity and Artificial Intelligence edge computing.

ASMedia Technology is set to debut its latest PCIe Packet Switch solution, the ASM58048, at Computex 2025. This new offering highlights the company´s comprehensive PCIe product range, which spans from PCIe Gen 2 through Gen 6 and accommodates channel configurations from 3 up to 80 channels. Development on the forthcoming PCIe Gen 5 ASM68080 series is also progressing, with a fully verified PHY design nearly finalized. After launching the ASM58048, ASMedia plans to release several other products supporting 24 to 80 channels, alongside ongoing development efforts focused on PCIe Gen 6 technology.

Beyond PCIe, ASMedia is making substantial strides in USB4 controller solutions. Its ASM4242 host controller has been integrated into high-end motherboards and laptops from leading brands, achieving certification for both USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 standards. Another product, the ASM2464PDX USB4 controller, is designed with edge computing in mind, particularly for Artificial Intelligence applications. This controller facilitates plug-and-play external GPU setups by converting PCIe Gen 4 signals into USB4. This innovation allows seamless external connections of graphics cards, NVMe SSDs, and Wi-Fi modules, offering external performance that matches or approaches that of internal installations.

ASMedia´s diverse portfolio illustrates its commitment to advancing wired connectivity for emerging computing workloads. The company´s solutions aim to address the growing demand for scalable high-speed data transfer—whether for desktop workstations or Artificial Intelligence at the edge.
