AMD´s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, a 16-core mobile CPU based on the Zen 5 architecture, is appearing off the laptop platform in a microATX form factor from Aoostar. The company, known for its mini PCs, published a Bilibili post revealing two microATX motherboard variants: one populated with the Ryzen 9 9955HX and another with the 9955HX3D. The boards target DIY small form factor desktop builders who want higher performance without the extreme expansion limits of traditional mini PCs.
Both Aoostar motherboards share the same core connectivity and expansion features. Each board has a full-size PCIe 5.0 x16 expansion slot for discrete graphics compatibility, two DDR5 memory slots providing dual-channel capability, and two 2280 M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slots for high-speed storage. The design also appears to use a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. These choices emphasize a balance between compact size and practical expandability for GPUs and modern NVMe storage.
The 9955HX3D model’s headline feature is its large cache, split between 64 MB of 3D V-Cache and 64 MB of regular cache, which the post highlights as a key advantage for heavier workloads. The Bilibili announcement included prices in yuan but did not provide clear converted launch prices. The post lists original amounts of ¥3799 for the non-3D board and ¥4799 for the 3D V-Cache-equipped board, but converted launch prices were not stated. It is also not clear from the announcement whether Aoostar will offer these microATX motherboards outside of China.
