AMD Prepares Radeon PRO W9000 Series with RDNA 4 Architecture

AMD´s upcoming Radeon PRO W9000 series, built on RDNA 4, aims to push professional graphics and Artificial Intelligence acceleration to new heights.

AMD is preparing to launch a new series of professional graphics cards powered by its advanced RDNA 4 graphics architecture. The forthcoming flagship model, likely branded under the Radeon PRO W9000 series, will feature the ´Navi 48 XTW´ silicon. According to leaked information, this new card will be equipped with 32 GB of ECC GDDR6 memory accessed via a 256-bit wide memory bus, aligning with the high-performance requirements of professional visualization workloads. The GPU is expected to deliver a core configuration similar to the Radeon RX 9070 XT gaming card, boasting 64 compute units, totaling 4,096 stream processors, as well as integrated support for 128 artificial intelligence accelerators, 64 ray-tracing accelerators, 256 texture mapping units, and 128 render output units.

In addition to targeting professional visualization markets, AMD is positioning the Radeon PRO W9000 series for Artificial Intelligence acceleration applications. The inclusion of a substantial number of artificial intelligence accelerators underscores a strategic move to compete in data-intensive and compute-heavy fields. This product push comes as AMD gears up for its ´Advancing AI´ press event in June, where the company is anticipated to spotlight its next-generation Artificial Intelligence GPUs and expand upon its ROCm software ecosystem designed for advanced computing and machine learning developers.

This dual focus on professional visualization and Artificial Intelligence places the Radeon PRO W9000 series at the intersection of content creation and advanced computing workflows. As AMD continues to refine its GPU architecture to meet the demands of complex rendering and Artificial Intelligence workloads, the official unveiling at the upcoming press event is expected to highlight both hardware innovation and ecosystem advancements, reinforcing AMD’s competitive stance in both creative and scientific markets.
