Salesforce Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Convergence.ai

Salesforce is set to acquire Convergence.ai, advancing its Artificial Intelligence agent capabilities and planting the foundation for a London-based AI R&D hub.

Salesforce has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Convergence.ai, a company specializing in Artificial Intelligence agent technology that enables autonomous systems to perform complex, human-like digital tasks. Convergence.ai is particularly noted for its creation of adaptive agents that can navigate dynamic digital interfaces, execute multi-step web-based workflows, and overcome obstacles such as pop-ups, errors, and frequent user interface changes. This technology is designed to improve task automation by making Artificial Intelligence agents more resilient and adaptable to constantly evolving environments.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Convergence.ai´s team and platform will be integrated into Salesforce´s Agentforce offering, a core component of the company´s Artificial Intelligence strategy. Salesforce expects Convergence´s team, with its deep expertise in agent design and autonomous task execution, to significantly accelerate its efforts to deliver next-generation agents capable of handling complex digital workflows. Salesforce leadership, including Adam Evans, EVP & GM of Salesforce AI Platform, highlighted the innovation Convergence.ai brings, emphasizing its crucial role in transforming both customer interactions and employee productivity with agents that perceive, reason, and adapt intuitively.

The acquisition is also expected to strengthen Salesforce´s research and development presence in London, positioning the city as a nucleus for Artificial Intelligence innovation within the company. Salesforce plans to establish a growing centre of AI R&D anchored by the Convergence.ai team, leveraging London´s strong concentration of Artificial Intelligence talent to drive forward deep research, task automation, and industry-specific solutions. The deal, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is anticipated to close in the second quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed. Convergence.ai’s leadership, including CEO and Co-founder Marvin Purtorab, stated that joining Salesforce marks a major step in scaling their vision of automation as intrinsic to how work is accomplished, fostering broader adoption of adaptive agent-driven workflows across industries.
