Repello AI, a security-focused startup headquartered in San Francisco and Bengaluru, has secured NULL.2 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Venture Highway, recently acquired by General Catalyst, with participation from pi Ventures, Entrepreneur First, as well as notable angel backers such as Meta board member Charles Songhurst, Sarvam.ai CEO Vivek Raghavan, and Project Hero CEO Satya Vyas.
The company, founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Aryaman Behera and Naman Mishra, will utilize the funding to accelerate product development and enhance its capabilities in red teaming, threat intelligence, and platform integrations. Repello AI aims to scale its go-to-market initiatives and forge new strategic partnerships, focusing on the proactive security of generative Artificial Intelligence systems—guarding against risks including prompt injection, data leakage, poisoning attacks, and emerging vulnerabilities.
Repello AI’s flagship offering, ARTEMIS (Automated Red Teaming Engine for Mapping, Identification and Scanning), is designed as a continuous security platform tailored for generative Artificial Intelligence applications. ARTEMIS executes millions of automated adversarial tests across multi-modal data, shifting security from reactive to proactive by providing detection and actionable mitigation strategies. Complementing this, Repello Guard supplies runtime threat monitoring and guardrails, capable of identifying unsafe outputs, system prompt leaks, and competitor mentions in real time. The co-founders emphasize a need for advanced, scalable solutions as generative Artificial Intelligence proliferates across enterprise operations. Industry investor Roopan Aulakh of pi Ventures highlighted Repello’s GenAI-native approach to surpass traditional cybersecurity limits, citing their expertise in both Artificial Intelligence and security since their academic days.
