Quantiphi, an artificial intelligence-first digital engineering company, has unveiled Phi Labs, formalizing its long-running research and development hub dedicated to tackling complex business challenges with breakthrough artificial intelligence solutions. Based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Phi Labs serves as the innovation engine behind Quantiphi’s advances in Generative Artificial Intelligence, Life Sciences, and Digital Twins technology.

Since 2018, the group now known as Phi Labs has led major innovation initiatives, amassing an extensive patent portfolio and featuring its work at leading scientific forums such as Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) and the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). Highlighted by Quantiphi’s Global R&D Head, Dagnachew (Dan) Birru, the lab bridges cutting-edge research and practical enterprise applications, empowering clients to stay ahead in the evolving artificial intelligence landscape.

Phi Labs’ achievements include over 15 technology and intellectual property transfers, facilitating the creation of products such as baioniq, Dociphi, and Codeaira. The lab has produced milestones across various sectors, including Speech-to-Text for finance, 3D-GANs for seismic imaging, and advanced healthcare diagnostics that achieve significant reductions in processing times.
