SAP accelerates Business AI adoption for Southeast Asia enterprises

At its flagship Southeast Asia event, SAP showcased how organizations like Singapore Airlines are embracing Artificial Intelligence to boost efficiency, automate processes, and train talent for the future.

At the SAP NOW AI Tour Southeast Asia in Singapore, SAP SE presented fresh analysis demonstrating how businesses throughout Southeast Asia are rapidly integrating artificial intelligence into core operations. Major enterprises, such as Singapore Airlines, are reaping tangible value from Business AI, leveraging technologies for tasks including automated expense generation via receipt images, compliance verification, and generative writing for HR applications. Other popular use cases featured generative artificial intelligence for crafting performance goals and integrating key business documents within co-pilot tools for more effective question-and-answer functionality.

One highlighted initiative was a successful proof of concept with Singapore Airlines, supported by Digital Industry Singapore, to digitize the airline´s procurement contracts using SAP Document AI. The project automated the extraction of rates from unstructured, multilingual PDF contracts and integrated them into the Ariba procurement system, delivering full accuracy for simpler documents and over 70% for complex contracts, and significantly improving efficiency for non-English contracts through streamlined translation. This collaboration drove refinements in SAP’s document intelligence models, setting a technology benchmark for broader industry application.

The event also showcased the momentum behind partnerships and customer AI adoption, most notably SAP’s collaboration with Amazon Web Services. Together, they launched a new AI Co-Innovation Program, encouraging partners to build generative artificial intelligence solutions on robust cloud infrastructure, as well as expanded SAP cloud ERP availability via the AWS Marketplace. Malaysian energy firm Yinson Holdings shared its digital HR transformation journey, which now incorporates generative artificial intelligence to automate performance reviews, generate job descriptions, and streamline interview processes. SAP also announced a major update to the SAP Skills University—developed in partnership with SkillsFuture Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic—introducing fifteen new artificial intelligence courses to equip students and mid-career professionals with cloud, analytics, and emerging technology skills. SAP reaffirmed its commitment to shaping Southeast Asia’s future by investing in both advanced technology and workforce readiness.
