NVIDIA Blackwell Boosts Water Efficiency with Liquid-Cooled AI Infrastructure

NVIDIA´s Blackwell platform introduces liquid cooling to dramatically enhance water and energy efficiency in Artificial Intelligence data centers.

As Artificial Intelligence models grow in complexity and computational demands, traditional air-cooled systems in data centers are struggling to keep up with rising power densities and heat dissipation challenges. While legacy facilities operated at around 20 kW per rack, modern hyperscale data centers can now support over 135 kW per rack, highlighting the urgent need for new solutions to manage escalating energy requirements and cooling costs in Artificial Intelligence workloads.

Liquid cooling has emerged as a key strategy to address these challenges, offering significant improvements in heat rejection and energy efficiency. By reducing reliance on mechanical chillers, liquid-cooled systems not only lower operational costs but also enable greater scalability and performance for high-density server racks. This shift is particularly vital for data centers powering next-generation Artificial Intelligence models, where energy and heat loads routinely exceed the capabilities of conventional cooling methods.

NVIDIA´s latest rack-scale offerings, the GB200 NVL72 and GB300 NVL72, exemplify this new approach. These systems are designed specifically for the demanding inference tasks required by trillion-parameter large language models, integrating advanced liquid cooling to maintain peak server performance and water efficiency. Their architecture is optimized for both scaling accuracy during model testing and operational sustainability, positioning the Blackwell platform as a frontrunner in future-ready, environmentally conscious Artificial Intelligence infrastructure.

UK and EU Artificial Intelligence regulatory outlook for May 2026

The UK is moving ahead with targeted Artificial Intelligence measures in policing, online safety, cyber security and copyright policy, while the EU is refining how the EU Artificial Intelligence Act will apply in practice. Consultations, new offences and implementation deadlines are shaping the next phase of compliance on both sides.

Germany sets out national implementation of the Artificial Intelligence Act

Germany has published a draft law to implement the European Artificial Intelligence Act through new supervisory structures, clearer institutional responsibilities, and measures designed to support innovation. The proposal puts the Federal Network Agency at the center of enforcement while preserving sector-specific oversight in sensitive fields.

ECB warns banks about new Artificial Intelligence security risks

The European Central Bank has called major banks to an emergency meeting over cybersecurity risks tied to advanced Artificial Intelligence models. Regulators want banks to speed up security updates as newer tools make it easier to find and exploit vulnerabilities.

Anthropic keeps Mythos restricted after vulnerability findings

Anthropic says its cybersecurity model Mythos is powerful at uncovering software flaws but remains too risky for broad release. Early testing found large numbers of vulnerabilities across major software and open source projects, while fixes have lagged far behind discoveries.
