Minisforum Unveils AMD Ryzen-Powered N5 Pro NAS at Computex 2025

Minisforum debuts its innovative N5 Pro NAS at Computex 2025, powered by AMD Ryzen and featuring advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities.

At Computex 2025, Minisforum showcased its upcoming N5 Pro NAS device, distinguishing itself from conventional network-attached storage systems through the integration of AMD´s Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 SoC. The platform supports up to 96 GB of ECC DDR5 5600 MHz memory via two SO-DIMM slots, demonstrating a focus on both performance and reliability. Network connectivity is robust, featuring one 10 Gbps and one 5 Gbps Ethernet port, along with two USB4 ports offering DisplayPort Alt mode, a HDMI 2.1 port, and an assortment of USB 3.2 and 2.0 ports for versatile peripheral support. Notably, while an Oculink port is visible on the unit, its official inclusion remains uncertain as it was omitted from provided specifications but is listed on the product page.

Storage expandability is a key highlight, with the N5 Pro accommodating up to five 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives in traditional drive caddies, each supporting drives up to 22 TB. The mainboard also features an M.2 NVMe slot (PCIe 4.0 x1, up to 22110 length), complemented by an optional expansion PCB that enables two additional NVMe drives in either U.2 or M.2 formats. One slot offers a PCIe 4.0 x2 interface and the other a PCIe 4.0 x1, addressing the needs of users who require high-speed, flexible storage configurations. Although the expansion process may be somewhat intricate, Minisforum´s sliding motherboard design aids ease of access. Internally, a full-length, low-profile PCIe x16 slot is available, electrically limited to four lanes and capable of hosting devices such as GPUs, emphasizing the unit´s versatility beyond mere storage tasks.

The N5 Pro will ship with MinisCloud OS, but it also supports Windows 11, positioning it as a multi-function system suitable for workloads extending beyond standard NAS use. This flexibility could appeal to enthusiasts and professionals seeking to leverage advanced AMD silicon and Artificial Intelligence features in a compact form factor. While Minisforum has not yet disclosed official pricing, early registrants on the company´s website are being offered a significant 30 percent discount. This combination of innovation, performance, and user incentives signals Minisforum´s intent to compete aggressively in the modern NAS market.
