Microsoft, NVIDIA and Anthropic deepen Artificial Intelligence partnerships

Microsoft, NVIDIA and Anthropic announced expanded partnerships to scale Anthropic's Claude Artificial Intelligence models on Azure, backed by NVIDIA systems and combined investment and compute commitments.

Microsoft, NVIDIA and Anthropic announced coordinated strategic partnerships to scale Anthropic’s Claude Artificial Intelligence models on Microsoft Azure, using NVIDIA infrastructure. Anthropic said the move will broaden access to Claude and provide Azure enterprise customers with expanded model choice and new capabilities. The company committed to purchase NULL billion of Azure compute capacity and to contract additional compute capacity up to 1 gigawatt.

NVIDIA and Anthropic are establishing a deep technology partnership focused on joint design and engineering. The collaboration aims to optimize Anthropic models for improved performance, efficiency and total cost of ownership while also informing future NVIDIA architectures for Anthropic workloads. Anthropic’s initial compute commitment will be up to 1 gigawatt of capacity running on NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems. Microsoft and Anthropic are expanding their existing relationship so Azure AI Foundry customers can access frontier Claude models, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1 and Claude Haiku 4.5.

Microsoft has committed to continue providing Claude across its Copilot family, including GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio, and the companies highlighted that Claude will be the only frontier large language model available on all three of the world’s most prominent cloud services. As part of the arrangement, NVIDIA and Microsoft are committing to invest up to NULL billion and up to NULL billion respectively in Anthropic. Anthropic cofounder and CEO Dario Amodei, Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang met to discuss the partnerships. The announcement was published simultaneously on the Microsoft, NVIDIA and Anthropic newsrooms.
