Germany accelerates artificial intelligence infrastructure with NVIDIA investments

Germany is fueling a nationwide transformation by deploying NVIDIA-powered artificial intelligence factories, targeting breakthroughs in manufacturing, automotive, and more.

Germany is leveraging a tradition of engineering innovation by investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure, partnering with NVIDIA to drive advancements across major sectors including automotive, manufacturing, banking, and robotics. The country is rolling out tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs in expansive data centers, labeled ´AI factories,´ designed to generate solutions for businesses, researchers, and government bodies. These efforts are coupled with the deployment of optimized software for complex agentic and reasoning models, and the integration of cutting-edge physical artificial intelligence in next-generation vehicles and robotic systems.

Key projects include the establishment of the world’s first industrial artificial intelligence cloud for European manufacturers, located in Germany, powered by NVIDIA’s DGX B200 systems and RTX PRO Servers featuring 10,000 Blackwell GPUs. This platform will accelerate industrial applications spanning from engineering and simulation to robotics and digital twins. Additionally, Germany hosts advanced research supercomputers such as JUPITER at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre—a system set to become Europe’s first exascale supercomputer. Equipped with approximately 24,000 NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips and advanced InfiniBand networking, JUPITER is poised to double current European supercomputing capacity, supporting work in large language models, high-resolution climate simulations, quantum computing, and drug discovery. The upcoming Blue Lion supercomputer, built by Hewlett Packard Enterprise for the Leibniz Supercomputing Center, will further accelerate climate, physics, and machine learning workflows from 2026 onwards.

German enterprises, from deep tech startups to industry stalwarts, are integrating NVIDIA hardware and platforms to unlock new artificial intelligence capabilities. Cologne-based DeepL is deploying a DGX SuperPOD to dramatically speed up language translation, while generative companies like Black Forest Labs contribute advanced text-to-image models for NVIDIA’s AI Blueprint. Automation and robotics leaders such as Agile Robots and SICK are deploying the NVIDIA Isaac platform, and financial, automotive, supply chain, and cybersecurity firms are utilizing NVIDIA’s software suite to transform operations. Upskilling initiatives, spearheaded by appliedAI and backed by NVIDIA, aim to democratize artificial intelligence access for Germany’s Mittelstand and develop agentic systems with reasoning and autonomy. Academic and industry collaborations, including a new NVIDIA research center in Bavaria, are cultivating talent through nearly 100 instructor-led deep learning workshops. Major integrators like SAP, Deloitte, and Accenture are further embedding NVIDIA solutions, making advanced artificial intelligence accessible throughout the German economy.
