The European Union and Kenya have officially launched the EU-Kenya Digital Dialogue, expanding cooperation across the digital sector. The initiative creates a structured forum for discussions on policy, mutual cooperation, and innovation, while building on existing projects and shared priorities between the two sides.

The Digital Dialogue will focus on key topics, including: telecommunications and digital networks infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence innovation and ecosystems, and eGovernance including Digital Public Infrastructure. These areas frame the partnership around core digital capabilities, public sector modernization, and the development of broader technology ecosystems.

The launch event took place at the EU-Kenya Tech Business Offer Forum, which brought together EU Member States, companies, and development financing institutions. The event was attended by Hon. Mr William Kabogo Gitaū, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy of the Republic of Kenya, and Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology at the European Commission. Publication 18 March 2026 marks the formal launch of the initiative and its role in strengthening EU-Kenya engagement in the digital realm.
