Centre for Development of Telematics launches Samarth incubation program for telecom and ICT startups

C-DOT introduces Samarth, a new incubation initiative supporting startups developing telecom software, cybersecurity, 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, IoT, and quantum technologies.

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), an autonomous telecom research and development wing under the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, has announced the launch of the ´Samarth´ incubation program, targeting startups and innovators in the telecom and ICT sectors. The initiative, which was launched on 19 March 2025, is designed to foster innovation, advance technological breakthroughs, and bridge the journey from ideation to commercialization for emerging companies in specialized fields such as telecom software, cybersecurity, 5G/6G technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT, and quantum technologies.

Samarth is structured to operate in two six-month cohorts, with up to 18 startups participating in each, totaling 36 startups across the program tenure. To support high-impact solutions, C-DOT has brought on the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) as its implementation partner. The program provides selected startups with a comprehensive suite of benefits including access to up to ₹5 lakh in grant funding, six months of fully furnished office space at C-DOT campuses in Delhi and Bengaluru, use of advanced laboratory facilities, and mentorship from experts within both C-DOT and the broader industry. The hybrid delivery model is designed to maximize flexibility and inclusiveness for participants.

The application process is open exclusively to startups recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Prospective startups undergo a rigorous screening and pitching process, culminating in selection by a panel of industry and academic experts. Once selected, startups can also look forward to further funding opportunities through the C-DOT Collaborative Research Program, depending on their progress through Samarth. The initiative aims not only to catalyze new innovations but also to create a robust ecosystem that promotes collaboration, attracts investment, and supports business scalability. More information and application details are available via the official C-DOT and dedicated Samarth portals.
