Arteris wins AI engineering innovation award at the 2025 AI Breakthrough Awards

Arteris secures top recognition at the 2025 AI Breakthrough Awards for its FlexGen network-on-chip technology, redefining performance in artificial intelligence hardware.

Arteris, a provider of system IP for accelerating system-on-chip (SoC) development, has been awarded the ´AI Engineering Innovation Award´ at the 2025 AI Breakthrough Awards. This accolade acknowledges Arteris’ recent launch of FlexGen, a pioneering smart network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP technology. The annual AI Breakthrough Awards, organized by AI Breakthrough, honor transformative contributions in the global artificial intelligence sector, with over 5,000 nominations submitted in 2025 alone.

FlexGen tackles the intricate challenges of NoC design for artificial intelligence-centric semiconductors, especially in data center and automotive self-driving applications. Traditional on-chip communication solutions, when implemented manually, are slow and susceptible to errors, particularly as they scale to hundreds or thousands of processing elements. FlexGen automates much of this process, producing rapid, correct-by-design NoC architectures that are optimized for both speed and efficiency.

Early adopters of FlexGen technology have reported up to tenfold improvements in productivity, a 30 percent reduction in wire length, and a 10 percent decrease in latency, compared to conventional design methods. The product’s incremental operation ensures outputs consistently reflect input modifications, and it also supports advanced manual NoC editing for experts. According to K. Charles Janac, Arteris president and CEO, this award demonstrates the company´s impact on the future of artificial intelligence hardware by lowering barriers for engineers and streamlining the design of complex NoCs for a new generation of SoCs and chiplets.

With the proliferation of artificial intelligence across sectors such as the Internet-of-Things, FinTech, cybersecurity, and digital health, Arteris’ evolving product portfolio—most notably FlexGen—positions the company at the forefront of accelerating silicon innovations. Their solutions continue to attract recognition for enabling faster, more efficient creation of next-generation artificial intelligence hardware.
