Aligned Data Centers expands artificial intelligence-ready campuses from Ohio to Texas

Aligned Data Centers is transforming brownfield sites and scaling sustainable, modular infrastructure to meet surging artificial intelligence workloads across Ohio, Phoenix, and Dallas.

In a rapid response to surging computational demand, Aligned Data Centers has unveiled an ambitious slate of expansions and technology partnerships that span from Ohio’s industrial legacy sites to edge innovation hubs across the United States. The company´s latest flagship announcement centers on a mega-scale data center campus slated for Central Ohio, repurposing a 197-acre brownfield adjacent to the now-decommissioned Conesville coal power plant in Coshocton County. The project, which will roll out in phases, represents a multi-billion dollar investment expected to generate thousands of construction jobs, hundreds of permanent roles, and robust tax contributions to support local infrastructure and services. The initial facility has already secured a foundational customer, with capacity set to become available in mid-2026. This campus is Aligned’s third in Ohio, signaling the state’s primacy for hyperscale artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, thanks to robust power access, high-capacity fiber routes, and favorable regulatory conditions.

Beyond expansion, Aligned is sharpening its sustainability profile. Its recently completed PHX-06 data center in Phoenix stands out, having achieved the coveted Three Green Globes® rating from the Green Building Initiative, which recognizes leading performance in resource efficiency, environmental protection, and occupant health. The Phoenix campus showcases minimized water usage, highly efficient energy systems, sourcing of 100% renewable power, and adoption of its Adaptive Modular Infrastructure (AMI), based on standardized prefabrication. This approach greatly reduces waste, streamlines deployments, and lowers Scope 3 emissions, positioning Aligned at the forefront of responsible digital infrastructure delivery. As the highest-certifying developer in the GBI program, the firm is becoming synonymous not only with speed but with sustainability leadership.

Aligned is also pushing the envelope in cooling innovation, a necessity as artificial intelligence workloads escalate power density requirements. Its new Advanced Cooling Lab in Phoenix serves as a testbed for air, liquid, and hybrid cooling regimes, leveraging patented Delta Cube and DeltaFlow~ technologies. The lab enables seamless transition from air to liquid cooling within the same facility, preparing customers for exponential growth in GPU and AI-accelerated computing, including support for NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell architecture. This commitment to advanced research and development underpins Aligned´s collaboration with Lambda, an artificial intelligence-focused cloud provider that recently selected Aligned’s DFW-04 campus in Plano, Texas. This facility is purpose-built for high-density, liquid-cooled GPU colocation, highlighting an industry-wide pivot to specialized, flexible infrastructure for next-generation workloads. Collectively, these moves position Aligned Data Centers as a leading force in building infrastructure capable of adapting as quickly as artificial intelligence evolves, blending real estate expertise, technology leadership, climate responsibility, and decisive customer partnerships.
