IBM Unveils Hybrid Solutions to Scale Enterprise Artificial Intelligence

IBM introduces new hybrid capabilities to help enterprises deploy Artificial Intelligence agents, unlock unstructured data, and accelerate ROI across fragmented environments.

At its THINK 2025 event, IBM announced comprehensive new hybrid technologies designed to help enterprises overcome the hurdles of deploying and scaling Artificial Intelligence. Businesses are increasingly challenged by fragmented app ecosystems and underutilized data. IBM’s strategy delivers end-to-end solutions aimed at enabling organizations to build and orchestrate Artificial Intelligence agents using proprietary enterprise data, drive meaningful returns on investment, and make unstructured data accessible for Artificial Intelligence models.

Central to the announcement is the expanded suite of agent capabilities in IBM´s watsonx Orchestrate, which allows users to build custom Artificial Intelligence agents in under five minutes and leverage a new Agent Catalog with over 150 agents and tools from IBM and key partners such as Salesforce, Oracle, and ServiceNow. The solution supports broad integration with more than 80 enterprise business applications, agent orchestration for complex multi-agent workflows, and advanced observability features for lifecycle management and governance. These offerings are set to transform agent-based automation, with domain-specific agents in HR, sales, and procurement. Independent analysis from Forrester Consulting projects organizations can achieve a 176% ROI over three years using IBM’s webMethods Hybrid Integration to automate app, API, and event integrations across hybrid cloud environments.

IBM is also making key advancements in data readiness with the evolution of watsonx.data, combining an open data lakehouse with data fabric tools to extract and operationalize insights from unstructured data. Internal tests show these updates can drive 40% more accurate agent outcomes compared to traditional retrieval approaches. The launch of watsonx.data integration and intelligence offers single-interface orchestration and powerful analytics for unstructured data, enhancing client flexibility. Partnerships and acquisitions, including DataStax and integrations with Meta’s Llama Stack, further IBM’s commitment to open, scalable Artificial Intelligence deployment. On the infrastructure side, the new IBM LinuxONE 5 server platform processes up to 450 billion inference operations daily, with performance, security, and efficiency enhancements that include quantum-safe encryption and Artificial Intelligence-specific accelerators. Expanded collaborations with hardware partners like AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA underline IBM’s vision for an end-to-end ecosystem optimized for Artificial Intelligence at scale.

Enterprise clients across industries—including Sony, Honda, Banco de Brasil, PepsiCo, and USAA—offered testimonials highlighting improvements in automation, data management, customer engagement, and operational efficiency through adopting IBM’s Artificial Intelligence and hybrid cloud solutions. IBM emphasizes that these enhanced hybrid Artificial Intelligence technologies are driving a shift from experimentation to production-ready, integrated Artificial Intelligence deployments that cut complexity and deliver measurable business impact.
