GeForce NOW brings RTX 5080-class power and Artificial Intelligence upgrades

NVIDIA will upgrade GeForce NOW to the Blackwell RTX architecture in September, delivering GeForce RTX 5080-class performance, next-generation Artificial Intelligence features and a new Install-to-Play capability that expands the cloud library to nearly 4,500 titles.

NVIDIA is upgrading GeForce NOW to the Blackwell RTX architecture in September, bringing GeForce RTX 5080-class GPUs to the cloud. The company says the new servers deliver 62 teraflops of compute performance, a 48GB frame buffer, more than three times the performance of current consoles and 2.8 times faster frame rates than previous-generation servers. NVIDIA highlights features such as NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for up to 5K streaming at 120 frames per second, NVIDIA Reflex for competitive play up to 360 fps at 1080p with sub-30 millisecond network latency, and a Cinematic Quality Streaming mode with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, Artificial Intelligence sharpening and advanced AV1 encoding.

The update includes a new Install-to-Play feature for Premium members that uses NVIDIA NVMesh cloud storage to allow games to be installed and run directly in the cloud. NVIDIA says Install-to-Play instantly doubles the supported catalog, with more than 2,200 Steam titles already opted in and a total library exceeding 4,500 games. Ultimate and Performance members will receive 100GB of single-session storage, with optional persistent storage add-ons available; specific prices for memberships and storage add-ons are not stated. NVIDIA also notes expanded device support, including 90 fps on Steam Deck, 4K 120 fps on the Lenovo Legion Go S handheld, up to 5K 120Hz on supported LG monitors and 4K 120Hz on supported LG TVs, as well as full support for mac users and additional peripheral compatibility.

The company previewed a slate of games optimized for the upgraded platform, including arc raiders, Borderlands 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, cinder city, dying light: the beast, the outer worlds 2, vampire: the masquerade – bloodlines 2 and hell is us. GeForce NOW will expand regionally, launching in India in November with GFNA partner Brothers Picture, and partners such as Comcast and Deutsche Telekom are cited for network enhancements. NVIDIA is also testing a Discord and Epic integration that lets users stream games directly in Discord, starting with Fortnite via a limited trial of the Performance experience. Server availability will be limited at launch, and members are encouraged to upgrade to Ultimate for access.
