GeoAI Seminar Revolutionizes Spatial Analysis with Artificial Intelligence

Esri China´s seminar highlights the integration of Artificial Intelligence in spatial analysis, showcasing new geospatial capabilities.

Esri China (Hong Kong) hosted a compelling seminar titled ´GeoAI & Location Intelligence – The Future of Advanced Spatial Analysis´ on April 2, 2025, at Kowloon Tong´s InnoCentre. The event drew over 100 GIS professionals from various sectors, eager to learn about the innovative integration of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and deep learning with geospatial data and technologies. The seminar emphasized how this combination unlocks hidden insights and enhances understanding of spatial environments.

Senior Solution Engineer at Esri Inc., Daniel Chantlos, demonstrated the capabilities of ArcGIS Pro AI Assistant using Hong Kong´s data, translating user queries into geospatial insights. This tool, powered by a large-language model, facilitates interactive and accessible geospatial experiences. The event also showcased the Segment Anything Model (SAM), which unearths geographic information from satellite and drone imagery, and its text analysis counterpart, the Text-Segment Anything Model (TextSAM). Attendees also witnessed live demonstrations of the GeoAI Toolbox within ArcGIS Pro, revealing practical applications of pre-trained models in scenarios like natural hazard detection, such as landslides.

The seminar concluded with the introduction of ArcGIS products listed under the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF), including Site Scan for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
